Montbell’s aptly-titled Superior Down jackets have become a bit of a left-field outerwear favourite in the past few years thanks to that winning combination of functional design and really nice colours.
The cult Japanese brand’s Thunder Pass jackets tick similar boxes in the ‘rainwear’ category. They’re light… they pack away really small… and the colour combos are, for want of a better term, ‘just right’. Stash one in your bag next time the clouds are looking dubious and it’ll no doubt come in handy.
