Stuff We Like: The Kestin Cuillin Down Jacket
High-calibre outdoor gear from Kestin Hare
In the past couple of years Kestin have been honing their aptly-titled ‘Outdoor Garments’ range—creating seriously capable outerwear with that level of detail the Scottish brand is famous for. The Cuillin Down Jacket is a prime example of what we’re talking about—combining just the right amount of vintage outdoor flavour with the kind of modern technical features that you need to get through the winter in the Scottish Highlands.
That means warm-yet-lightweight quilted down (in that tasty ‘onion-stiched’ pattern, no less), along with a recycled nylon shell and a PFC-free water-resistant finish to keep the rain-drops off. That beige lining is a nice touch too—a perfect nod to the classic ‘50s and ‘60s down jackets that inspired this hearty slab of outerwear.
