Kestin’s Morningside Mac
A familiar silhouette done well
Kestin’s Morningside Mac is one of those pieces that’s quietly hard to fault. Named after an Edinburgh neighbourhood, it’s cut along classic mac lines—raglan pockets, rear vent, checked half-lining—but the fabric is where things get interesting.
We’ve worked with a lot of lifestyle and outdoor brands over the years, so we’ve come to know a thing or two about fabrics. Kestin’s mac is made from a water-repellent cotton twill developed in collaboration with a local mill that Kestin have partnered with for over fifteen years. Instead of going for the typical DWR, the water-repellent treatment is plant-based—one of the first of its kind from the mill—so it does the job without the usual synthetic coating. All of that translates to the fabric actually feeling nice next to your skin.
The fit is roomy enough to layer under, which in the UK is, let’s face it, non-negotiable. As part of our digital marketing partnership with Kestin, we’ve been spreading awareness about the mac, driving traffic and converting customers using a multi-platform ad strategy.
